Are you witches?
Yes we are! However, you do not need to be a witch to watch our sermons or be a part of our Church.
How can you be both a Christian and a Witch?
The word "Witch" as we know it today does not mean the same thing as it did when the Bible was being written. These were words in many different languages that were mistranslated into English. For example, "soothsayer," was actually the Hebrew word zekhur, which was someone who rubbed bodily fluids into their eyes to perform sorcery; we do not do this. Another example in which the word "witch" was misinterpreted was with the Greek word pharmakos, which referred to people who committed murder with their magick; obviously, we do not condone this. The Jewish Study Bible also states that the ancient Israelites (not the same as modern say "Israelis") acknowledged that the occult and sorcery were powerful and even effected, but it was strictly prohibited...for them. No where does the Bible say that these practices are prohibited to us in the modern day.
Witchcraft makes me nervous - are you performing spells or curses?
The Matriarchs each have their own individual practices in which we perform many different kinds of magick. However, within this organization specifically, we will not be performing any baneful magick (which is what we say instead of "black magick).
What is Mysticism?
Mysticism is an umbrella term for practices that involve seeking direct connection with the divine. It is the idea of transceding the physical, everyday world, to get as close to the divine as we possibly can. Witchcraft certainly falls under this umbrella term, but so does Christianity in many aspects. There are many rituals within Christianity (such as praying the rosary) that are meant to help us acheive divine union. Yet, many people fear the word "mysticism" because they generally associate it with the occult - which is not entirely false, but this ministry seeks to embrace the mysticism within the world of Christianity, not hide from it.
Do I have to be a witch to take part in the organization?
Nope! As long as respect is had, all are welcome.

What do you talk about in your sermons?
As all four Matriarchs come from very different backgrounds, there will be a myriad of topics to discuss. Some may choose to do a sermon relating to where we are in the liturgical calendar at that time. If there is a holiday or sabbot coming up, we may choose to do a sermon based on that. Other times, we may simply ask what God wants us to talk about, or speak from the heart.
Is your church queer affirming?
Yes. All four Matriarchs are queer.
Why are there four ministers?
The four Matriarchs from from very different backgrounds - from the Evangelical Church to Catholicism and everything in between. While we are all Christian Witches, our witchcraft practices also vary. Therefore, we felt that our different backgrounds and experiences will allow there to be something for everyone within our ministry. Maybe one Matriarch will stand out to you among the rest, or maybe you'll relate to all four of us. The goal above all is to ensure that everyone feels welcome and seen in our church.
Can women/queer people be ministers?
Yes. The idea of women not being allowed to speak in church that is mentioned in the book of Timothy is greatly misunderstood. For more information on this, we recommend the book What Paul Really Said About Women by John Temple Bristow. As far as queer people, the word "homosexuality" did not appear in the Bible until 1946, and the idea of queerness in general being a sin is another example of a gross mistranslation that has caused generations of harm that we want to take part in eliminating.
Do you collect tithes and offerings?
Yes. However, none of the Matriarchs will be collecting a salary from the tithes or any montetization the church may receive. All tithe money will either go towards church overhead, or community outreach (which is what we will prioritize). We believe that the money churches receive should go towards following Jesus's ideas of feeding the poor, helping those in need, etc. This is what any tithe money we receive will go towards. Many churches request that their congregation dontate 10% of their income - however, we will not be requesting any specific percentage or amount. If you are able to give, do what you can when you can. If you are not able to give, that is more than okay, and we're just glad you're here! If you wish to contribute, you can do so via the "Give" page.
